As we all let the reality that the Dolphins are a broken machine sink in, let’s discuss the potential fixes on the season.
We did see a better offense late in the Titans game and for that I am hopeful. Sad to say that the offense was called so poorly up until that point, that it’s easy to buy into this team having no talent. I think it’s safe to say that our issues might just rest solely on coaching and play calling. Obviously the line could be better. Perhaps more obvious, our D-Line was apparently built with egg shells. GM Chris Grier should absolutely be fired! But it’s more than that.

Lack of execution can definitely be an issue. Everything going wrong can leave players feeling helpless. That doesn’t give Tyreek Hill an excuse to drop pass after pass. I believe the locker room is lost. There is no belief!
All of the aside, why would Mike McDaniel not use Jaylen Wright running up the gut instead of De’Von Achane outside when one was clearly working and the other was not. Does somebody need to explain to him that tough inside yards isn’t automatic every time? Even CMC, Saquad, Breece Hall get stuffed sometimes. Doesn't mean you move away from it…
Also, the middle of the field was the open area of the field plenty and Tyler Huntley proved that he could make those throws. Yet Coach McDaniel shied away from it. Why?!
On defense, make no mistake that allowing simple passes to a guy sitting down in a zone for 3 seconds while 3 DB’s wait dead legged around him… it’s not cutting it. The run defense was half and half. Our backups can’t cut it.
So what should the plan be? Here’s the quick version:

Fire Chris Grier (GM), Fire Frank Smith (OC), promote Darrel Bevel to Offensive Coordinator and give him full rights to play calling. Next target Jalen Milroe, Cam Ward, or Shedeur Sanders in the 25’ Draft. There will be players that we love who will be traded away and it will hurt. Some young players will walk. The days of vets coming here in hopes for a superbowl on the way out are done for a while now.
Something cool will remain! Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, De’Von Achane, Jaylen Wright are more than enough to work with in the right offensive scheme. Even if we have to develop a QB behind Tua, there is no reason why the season to come can’t still be fun!
As long as we never see that level of disgusting play calling ever again!
