Who is De’Von Achane in 2024??? 👀

First I think it’s imperative to explain that De’Von Achane was the single most fantasy relevant Runningback by touches… in the history of NFL fantasy football. Meaning, every single time De’Von Achane touched the ball he did more with that single touch than guys like Barry Sanders, Marshall Faulk, and LaDainian Tomlinson! 🤯

Now let’s add in the fact that this success was primarily off of rushing over receiving yards. Mostly outside run plays. Keep that in mind as we explore the main focus of why Achane should be an even bigger factor going into the 2024 season.

I’d now like to make it very aware that De’Von has been practicing running actual receiver routes all off season. Perhaps the most interesting element to this is who he has been practicing his new found receiver skills with, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle 🤯

In fact, reports out of camp say that our guy De’Von looks like a legitimate WR2 option. In fact, one prominent beat reporter went so far to say he is the closest thing to the great Christian McCaffrey that he’s seen yet👀

So what does all this mean to the #MiamiDolphins in 2024? I think we have established that the major issue we faced last year was not having a 3rd option beyond Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in the WR room. Imagine having a receiving runningback as good as Christian McCaffrey in this already number 1 passing offense! I think it’s safe to say that this addition should be very dangerous.

If you missed my article on 12 and 21 personnel and its incorporation into this offense, I’ll encourage you to go back and read it. Because what comes next has an important direct tie in.

In 12 personnel the outside run gets a boost off the edge. In 21 you have a ton of confusion in the backfield. Especially in motion. Expect #DevonAchane to move into a receiver position on the line quite frequently. His speed and versatility pairs extremely well with these options!

A ton of folks in the media are seriously underrating the additions in weapons and ability to use new looks that the Miami Dolphins now have. Teams don’t usually show their hand preseason but Miami has definitely been leaving bread crumbs!

So I want to leave you with this image. Achane and Jonnu in the backfield. Julian Hill on the line. All focus is in the backfield. Hill and Waddle spread out wide. Who are you covering? Imagine the potential for motions and confusion!

Miami not only has the fastest team in the NFL but the most capable team and not just in the vertical anymore. This team has evolved with these additions and capabilities. Look for De’Von Achane to have a massive year! 🚀
